Purify Your Vision: Day Three

Don’t Underestimate Your Value

Yesterday we focused with great specificity on Satan’s existence and desire for your ineffectiveness as a witness for Christ.  Let’s focus today on the flip side of that coin.

Just as you are reviled and hated by Satan, you are adored and loved by God.  He loves you so much, in fact, that He sent His beloved Son in order that you might be able to live eternally with Him! In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him (1 John 4:9). How much He loves you!

But for some of us, this is hard to believe.  Many Christians need to hear God’s truth daily to cancel out the lies that the world tells. For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope (Romans 15:4).

You are a masterpiece – created in His image. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:27‬‬). You are made righteous by His blood!  For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬‬).  You need to know and be reminded that you are loved beyond the ability to speak it into words. Because God didn’t want an eternity without you, He sent His beloved Jesus to be brutally tortured and murdered for YOU.

There are those that will tell you that you are not enough or that you are too much.  They will say you are rejected and unloved. They will claim you are forgotten, unforgiven, and that your sins are too great. How many more lies do we need to write out? You know them all. You’ve heard that voice in your head. Maybe you’ve even heard someone speak it into life at you. Those words are not true.  They are lies that Satan uses to cripple Christians every day by making us think we are not and never will be good enough.  So how can we combat this attack?  We use the truth of God’s word.  Repeatedly.

Every time you hear a lie from the enemy, combat it with a truth, even if it doesn’t feel like truth at the time.  Satan says you are not enough. You repeat over and over that God made you enough.  The world claims you are unloved and past redemption.  You boldly declare truth:  that you are loved and that you have been redeemed. Dig into the scriptures and pick out verses.  Write them down. Post them on your fridge or mirrors where you can read these truths every day! It’s not an instant fix, but in time you will believe those truths. They will overshadow the lies Satan is using in an attempt to tear you down.

Today’s Challenge:  Dive into God’s word. Seek out the truths that you need to counter Satan’s lies about you. Write them down and post them in a place you can be reminded every day of your value in Christ.
